Jake Paul, preparing for his monumental bout against the legendary Mike Tyson, continues to make headlines-not just for his boxing career but for his personal life.
His girlfriend, Olympic silver medalist and world champion speed skater Jutta Leerdam, recently shared her thoughts about their relationship, her initial doubts, and the challenges of watching her partner in the ring.
Leerdam didn’t mince words when recalling her initial opinion of Paul in the Netflix documentary Countdown: Paul vs. Tyson.
“Jake sent me a DM on Instagram and asked if I wanted to be on his podcast,” she explained. “When he contacted me online, I thought, ‘What an arrogant idiot. He thinks he can do anything, but he won’t get me.'”
However, their relationship quickly shifted after they met. “We really clicked in these two fast-paced worlds on a deep and super personal level,” Leerdam revealed. “Since that moment, we have been inseparable.”
Paul, never one to shy away from self-deprecating humor, acknowledged her initial impression of him. “She thought I was a nasty guy, which I am. But then she understood my humor,” he quipped, adding to the dynamic of their budding relationship.

While Paul has trained hard for his toughest fight yet, Leerdam‘s support is unwavering. “It’s intense to watch, but I know he’s prepared,” she said.
