Juan Soto reacts to All-Star snub and sends serious warning to everyone

New York Mets’ star outfielder Juan Soto broke his silence after being left out of the 2025 All-Star Game and did so with a clear message: he is not happy, but he will use the decision as motivation to prove why he is one of the best hitters in MLB.

Soto’s exclusion surprised everyone

Despite having a spectacular season with the Mets, Juan Soto was not selected for this year’s All-Star Game, a decision that has generated controversy among fans, analysts and teammates. With an OPS of 1.259, 11 home runs and 25 runs scored in June alone, the Dominican leads multiple offensive categories in the National League.

His exclusion has been considered by many to be an injustice, especially when his performance has placed him in historical lists alongside legends such as Barry Bonds and Albert Pujols. However, far from falling into frustration, Soto responded with maturity and determination.

“Don’t underestimate me”: Juan Soto’s message

In comments after the All-Star finalists were announced, Soto was blunt:

Don’t underestimate me. This just gives me more reason to keep working and prove that I belong among the best

The outfielder made it clear that he doesn’t need an invitation to shine, and that his focus is on helping the Mets return to the postseason.

In addition, he sent a message to his critics:

I don’t need external validation. My numbers speak for themselves.

These words reflect the confidence of a player who, at 26 years of age, has already been a World Series champion, won a Home Run Derby and been a three-time All-Star.

Juan Soto: Leadership in the face of adversity

Soto’s reaction was not only individual. In the midst of a losing streak for the Mets, the Dominican also became a leader in the clubhouse. Along with figures such as Francisco Lindor and Pete Alonso, he organized an internal meeting to motivate the team after a series of painful defeats.

“Keep going. Believe in it”, was the message he shared with his teammates, seeking to lift their spirits and regain collective confidence. His attitude has been praised by the coaching staff and other players, who see him not only as an offensive star, but also as an emotional reference.

Extra motivation for the second half?

With the season still ongoing, Soto’s exclusion from the All-Star could become the fuel he needs to finish the year strongly. In 2024, he had an explosive second half that led him to lead the Padres to the postseason. Now, with the Mets, he is looking to repeat the feat. The New York team, which has faced key injuries and ups and downs in the bullpen, needs its figures to step up. And Soto seems ready to take on that role.

The absence of Juan Soto from the 2025 All-Star Game has been one of the most controversial decisions of the year in MLB. But far from being discouraged, the Dominican has responded with character, leadership and a clear message: don’t count him out.

With half a calendar year ahead of him, Soto has the perfect opportunity to prove that his place is among the best. And if he has made one thing clear, it is that he is more motivated than ever to do so.
