A couple of months have passed since Juan Soto left the Yankees, but it seems that the fans are still very upset to see him now with the Mets. The Yankees did everything they could to renew his contract, but Juan finally decided to move to Queens.
However, Soto has shown a lot of respect to the Yankees and only wishes them the best, to the point of pointing them out as a top-notch organization:
“The Yankees were number one from day one. I know the Yankees are going to be good for the next five or six years. We don’t know what’s going to happen after that,” Juan said in an interview with Sports Illustrated.
But those words were not well received by Yankees fans, as at the end of the day, Soto ended up signing a record $765 million contract with the hated cross-town rival New York Mets.
Yankees fans do not forget and attack Juan Soto
If we must mention fans who do not forgive anything, the Yankees would top that list, on this occasion a sector took aim at Juan Soto‘s statements in Sports Illustrated.
The truth is that the Dominican only left good comments, but for knowledgeable Yankees fans, it seems that they took it as an attempt to attack and showed their discontent on X“I mean, obviously the Yankees are better, haha. Boras manipulated the kid. He’s going to regret it. I feel a little bad, in a way.”“I hope to see him do well, although it’s a shame he left, but you won’t get a suite, etc., if Judge/Jeter wouldn’t do it”.“The Yankees have a better minor league system than the Mets, so what is this clown talking about? Who have the Mets produced that have become stars? Or that are even considered great?”“This makes no sense at all haha. To sit here and insinuate that in six years the Mets are more likely to be good is hilarious.”
These were some of the comments that could be read on Elon Musk’s social network in response to Juan Soto’s statements, which were not taken well at all.
The MLB season is just around the corner and expectations are high. We will see if the Yankees do not miss Soto and vice versa. We are in for an exciting campaign.
