It’s been a busy week for the Mets with reports about next season. What most concerns the team’s players and fans is whether Pete Alonso will stay or go. One of the most interested in his permanence is Juan Soto, who also wants Starling Marte to be signed.

the 2025 campaignMets had at the end

Soto and Alonso worked well together.

Juan believes that having an arm like Pete’s is important to aspire to the greatest in 2026. His teammate’s batting is powerful and effective, which is why he calls for an offer he can’t refuse.

Plan B in case Alonso leaves

more than $100 million

on the table. They also pray to the baseball gods that the Mets will sit down to negotiate with him for 2026. However, with the latent probability that he will leave, experts throw another name to replace him, Kyle Schwarber.

The

Phillies

left fielder finished the 2025 season as the runner-up for the National League MVP. He hit 56 home runs and drove in 132 runs. He is one of the most attractive hitters on the market at the moment and has the qualities to replace Alonso.

Edwin Diaz’s option

the Mets can look forward

to next season if they re-sign the Puerto Rican. The pitcher had a dominant season with a 1.63 ERA in 62 appearances and converted 28 of 31 save opportunities. He dropped below 1.00 in his last 50 appearances after May.
