Josh Allen surpasses legendary quarterbacks Manning and Favre with new record

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen continues to build a résumé that now firmly places him alongside some of the most decorated players in NFL history, and his latest milestone further strengthens his growing case for another MVP award.

With his performance in Buffalo‘s 26-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Allen reached 30 total offensive touchdowns for the sixth consecutive season, a streak that now surpasses legendary quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Brett Favre and also moves past Aaron Rodgers on the all-time list.

Allen’s production this season includes 19 passing touchdowns and 11 scores on the ground, showcasing once again why he remains one of the most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks the league has ever seen. Only Drew Brees, with nine straight seasons of at least 30 total touchdowns, now stands ahead of Allen’s current streak in NFL history.

Allen has showed continued dominance

For a player who entered the league in 2018 with questions about accuracy and consistency, the continued dominance across six straight seasons reflects a dramatic evolution into one of football’s most reliable engines of offense. The rushing element of Allen‘s game remains just as impactful as his work through the air.

Since his rookie year, he ranks second among all NFL players with 76 rushing touchdowns, trailing only running back Derrick Henry. In 2025, Allen is tied for second in the league in rushing touchdowns with 11, sharing that spot with Josh Jacobs and sitting only behind Jonathan Taylor’s 15.

Five of Allen’s rushing scores this season have come on third or fourth down, the most in the league, highlighting his ability to deliver in the most high-pressure situations. Even within his own draft class that includes elite runners such as Saquon Barkley and Nick Chubb, Allen has produced more than 20 additional rushing touchdowns than any of his contemporaries.

An historic mark against Pittsburgh

Allen‘s passing numbers also reached a historic mark against Pittsburgh. His third-quarter touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Keon Coleman was the 214th of his career, breaking a tie with Favre for the fifth-most passing touchdowns by any player in his first eight NFL seasons. Only Patrick Mahomes, Peyton Manning, Dan Marino, and Russell Wilson have thrown more touchdown passes over that same career window, a list that underscores the elite company Allen now keeps.

The milestone came in a game that perfectly illustrated Buffalo‘s current identity. After a sluggish start, the Bills erupted for 26 unanswered points, fueled by a wave of second-half takeaways and a dominant running game that put the contest firmly out of reach. The 26-7 victory lifted Buffalo to 8-4 on the season and kept them firmly embedded in the AFC Wild Card race as the playoff picture begins to sharpen.

The defense delivered one of its most complete performances of the season by limiting the Steelers to season lows in both points and rushing yards, allowing just 58 yards on the ground. It marked the 12th time under head coach Sean McDermott that Buffalo has held an opponent to seven points or fewer in a regular-season game, and it was the fifth such performance with both seven points and fewer than 60 rushing yards allowed since 2017.
