Aaron Rodgers remains one of the biggest question marks of the NFL offseason.
The four-time MVP, who was released by the New York Jets in February, has yet to find a new team despite reported interest from several franchises.
Josh Allen reflects on relationship with Aaron Rodgers
While speculation continues about his next move, Rodgers recently took a break from the uncertainty to host his annual RX3 charity flag football tournament in Southern California.
Among those in attendance was Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who recently signed a massive $330 million extension with the team.
Speaking at the event, Allen reflected on his growing friendship with Rodgers, offering insight into the veteran quarterback’s personality and influence on his career.
“I wouldn’t say he took me under his wing a couple years ago, but I got to meet him with RX3, and he’s been a big mentor for me and a big role model for that matter,” Allen shared during the event.
“I mean, I grew up watching him and idolizing him, so it’s kind of surreal to sit here and be friends with him and have a relationship with him, and it’s definitely something I cherish.”
Rodgers and Allen were spotted chatting and joking on the sidelines, underscoring the camaraderie they’ve developed over the years.
Allen described the 41-year-old quarterback as someone who appreciates good-natured teasing.
“He’s a quirky guy, Aaron is,” Allen said with a laugh.
“You’ve got to be able to find ways to dig at him just a little bit. I think he respects it when you do that to him, so I let him have it.”
While Allen is locked into his future with Buffalo, Rodgers’ next step remains uncertain.
The Minnesota Vikings have been rumored as a potential destination, with reports suggesting Rodgers has shown interest in joining the NFC North team.
However, insiders believe the Vikings are hesitant, as they’re committed to developing first-round draft pick J.J. McCarthy.
Other teams, including the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants, have reportedly reached out, but Rodgers has not shown much enthusiasm toward their offers.
As of now, the veteran quarterback has yet to make a decision, leaving fans and analysts speculating about where he will land next.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding Rodgers’ career, one thing is clear-his impact on the next generation of quarterbacks, including Allen, continues to be significant.
Whether he signs with a new team or ultimately steps away from the game, his presence in the NFL remains undeniable.
