The Buffalo Bills‘ historic comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season drew all eyes and amazement from fans at Highmark Stadium on Sunday.

Josh Allen led a thrilling 41-40 victory for Buffalo, outscoring his opponents even with a 15-point deficit near the end of the game.

Allen’s MVP status on display

The game was full of surprises until the last second, but also, of history and records. Bills became the first team in league history to come back from a 15-point deficit in the last four minutes of a Week 1 game.

It also marked a milestone for Baltimore, although not one they wanted: they had never lost a game scoring at least 40 points (25-1).

Without a doubt, the Ravens were not counting on Buffalo’s victory, as in the final four or five minutes of the game, their victory was 99% assured. However, Allen and the team changed their plans.

The 29-year-old quarterback had a brilliant performance. He finished the game 33-of-46 passing completions for 394 yards and two touchdown passes. He also contributed 30 ground yards and scored twice with his legs.

However, it was Allen’s 66th career touchdownon the ground that led him to break two important marks. This TD, accomplished on a 1-yard run in the final three minutes of the game, enshrined him as the franchise’s all-time leader in ground touchdowns, surpassing Thurman Thomas’ historic 65.

As if this were not enough, Josh became, along with Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers (63), the only quarterbacks to hold a franchise record in ground TDs.

With this first game as background and a test of what they can accomplish, Allen and the Buffalo Bills will face the New York Jets in Week 2 on Sunday, September 14, at MetLife Stadium.
