Jordan Love’s wife’s unusual request following her pregnancy: “Please don’t call me that”

Jordan Love‘s wife, Ronika Stone, has publicly asked fans and followers to refrain from calling her “mama” or “mommas” as she navigates early motherhood and adjusts to the attention surrounding her personal life.

Love and Stone first connected in 2020 through mutual friends and online conversations while he was in college. Despite the demands of professional sports careers, they maintained a supportive relationship, attending events and celebrating milestones together whenever possible.

In June 2024, Love proposed during a vacation in Italy, a moment the couple shared on social media with friends, family, and fans. They married on June 29, 2025, in Dana Point, California, surrounded by loved ones, officially beginning their life together as husband and wife.

Stone had an impressive volleyball career at the University of Oregon, setting multiple team records and earning accolades for her play before continuing professionally both internationally and domestically, including for the San Diego Mojo in the Pro Volleyball Federation.

The couple announced Stone‘s pregnancy in January 2026, sharing photos highlighting her baby bump and sonogram images. They hosted a baby shower in late February, and she also completed a swimsuit photoshoot, embracing her pregnancy and preparing for the arrival of their first child.

On Instagram, Stone expressed her preference for how fans address her, explaining that while she appreciates the affection and support, the labels “mama” or “mommas” do not resonate with her.

“I’ve tried to stay silent on this,” Stone said while showing off her bump. “But I need to speak my truth…(I know it’s all love but) please don’t call me mama or mommas. I’m really not a fan.”

Balancing personal life and professional stability

At 27 and entering his third year as a starter, Love has already demonstrated elite potential, throwing for 3,381 yards and 23 touchdowns in 2025 with only six interceptions, showcasing command of Matt LaFleur‘s offense and providing optimism for future growth.

LaFleur praised Love as a quarterback still developing his peak, emphasizing that NFL teams often rise or fall based on the skill of their signal-caller.

“Many teams in this league are only as good as your guy pulling the trigger…” LaFleur told Mike Garafolo, highlighting the quarterback’s importance to the Packers’ success.

Love has expressed appreciation for the stability provided by LaFleur‘s contract extension, noting that continuity in system, terminology, and leadership is critical for a quarterback entering his seventh season.

“Being able to keep Matt around is awesome, and I’m very happy about that,” Love said. “It’s a lot to learn a whole new system and new terminology. As a quarterback, being in the same system, the same terminology, it definitely helps me out.”

Amid offseason challenges, including key free agent departures, Love‘s personal life offers balance. Stone‘s pregnancy and their preparations for parenthood provide motivation beyond football, blending professional pressures with personal milestones.

Her public request underscores the importance of boundaries and individuality, showing that even high-profile figures retain the right to privacy and personal preference during transformative life stages such as pregnancy and first-time parenthood.
