Jordan Addison breathes fresh air as his trespassing charges are dismissed

Jordan Addison just received the kind of news that every athlete navigating the public eye hopes for: a clear case. On January 20, 2026, Florida prosecutors have officially dropped the misdemeanor trespassing charges against the Minnesota Vikings star following an incident earlier this month at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa.

While the legal storm and rumors have been cleared, the story and what was lived remain a significant situation for a 23-year-old player working hard to clean his image after a scrutinized personal history. That, plus the immense pressures of the NFL stardom, has created an scenario not many can get out of.

“The truth revealed”

After the news was made official, the reaction from Addison’s legal team was swift and resolute. His attorney, Brian Pakett, did not leave any words behind when discussing the dismissal, characterizing the original arrest as a misunderstanding of a “great kid” who committed no legal wrongdoings.

“We are thrilled that the truth was finally revealed and this poor man’s name was not besmirched any longer. I am thankful we were able to bring this to light as quickly as possible

Brian Pakett

The case originated from a late-night encounter on January 12 at the noodle bar restaurant inside the Hard Rock Casino. According to police reports, security staff asked Addison to leave the premises multiple times around 3:45 a.m. When he allegedly refused to comply, Seminole Police were called to escort him from the building, leading to a charge of first-degree misdemeanor trespass.

However, the rapid dismissal of these charges suggests a different story. Florida State Attorney Susan Lopez issued a “Notice of Termination of Prosecution” on Tuesday, signaling that the state would not pursue the case.

Time to consider his past actions

Despite the court victory, he has more things to take care of. After this situation, it is time for him to focus on the new opportunities to let his play define him again. He served a three-game suspension earlier in 2025 related to a previous DUI citation, so it is not the first time he has faced the consequences of letting his conscious focus slip.

As he is about to turn 24 later this month, the message from the Vikings organization is a supportive one, but they are watching closely too. This legal win provides all he needs to ensure his future in Minnesota remains as bright as his rookie season promised.
