In the heart of the American summer and with the PGA Tour season nearing its decisive stretch, the 2025 John Deere Classic stands out as a key stop for both veteran players and emerging talents. Held at the scenic TPC Deere Run, this tournament has long been a launchpad for rising stars and a crucial event for accumulating FedEx Cup points.

Since its debut in 1971, the John Deere Classic has consistently grown in stature, known for its fan-friendly atmosphere, strong organization, and knack for spotlighting future champions. This year, the focus extends beyond the leaderboard, as the tournament offers the largest purse in its history.

With many players battling for playoff spots, the John Deere Classic is more than just a mid-season contest-it’s a strategic opportunity

The 2025 edition sets a new financial benchmark with a total purse of $8.4 million, up from $7.9 million in 2024. This increase reflects the PGA Tour’s broader effort to raise the profile of regular-season events and provide more substantial incentives, even outside of the “Signature Events” category.

The winner won’t just take home a trophy and prestige, but will also earn $1,512,000, a prize that underscores the tournament’s growing importance

  • 1st 1,512,000
  • 2nd 915,600
  • 3rd 579,600
  • 4th 411,600
  • 5th 344,400

Beyond the money, the winner will also receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a two-year PGA Tour exemption, ensuring mid-term career security. The tournament runs from July 3 to July 6, 2025, right before the British Open.

This year’s edition could be pivotal for many golfers chasing a Top 70 finish, which guarantees a playoff berth. With only two regular-season tournaments remaining in the U.S., every stroke matters-and the pressure is on.
