The Cleveland Browns still have many questions to answer, one of which is who will be the team’s starting quarterback-a decision that could shape the organization’s path not only this season but also in the immediate and long-term future.

Currently, a fierce battle for the position is underway among Shedeur Sanders, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Kenny Pickett, but it won’t be until closer to September that we’ll know the winner. For now, they continue to work as a team, with the veteran quarterback taking on a leadership role as a mentor.

Joe Flacco caught advising Shedeur Sanders

In a video shared by Jori Epstein of Yahoo Sports, Joe Flacco can be seen having a conversation with rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

“As Browns QBs pull up film to review on the sideline of practice, Joe Flacco appears to be giving Shedeur Sanders advice after Shedeur’s 11-on-11 work,” reads the video’s description, showing the former Colorado football star chatting with the veteran NFL quarterback.

This video comes after weeks of discussion about Joe Flacco’s ability to mentor young quarterbacks, and it helps dispel doubts about the relationship among the Browns’ quarterback group, despite their competition for the starting role.

Shedeur Sanders learning from NFL veteran Joe Flacco

The best news for Shedeur Sanders is having a mentor like Joe Flacco, an NFL veteran and Super Bowl champion. Sanders is in the midst of a learning process at a level far different from college football.

It’s expected that Joe Flacco or Kenny Pickett will initially take the starting quarterback position, though many experts and analysts don’t rule out Shedeur Sanders claiming the role as the season progresses.
