Joe Burrow baits Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes: Cincinnati Bengals hero claims he is the NFL’s best quarterback

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has never been one to shy away from confidence, but he has laid down a huge gauntlet to Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes with a remarkable claim.

As Burrow enters his fifth NFL season, the 28-year-old is making a bold statement: he believes he’s the best quarterback in the league, surpassing even the likes of 2024 MVP Jackson and three-time Super Bowl winner Mahomes.

“I’m not sure I would say anyone is playing the position better than I am right now,” Burrow remarked, emphasizing his self-assurance and readiness to lead his team to success.

While many would rank Burrow as one of the top passers in the league, his assertion that he is clear and above the current MVP Jackson may surprise some NFL fans.

A record-breaking 2024 season

Burrow’s confidence isn’t without merit, though. In the 2024 season, he led the NFL with 4,918 passing yards and 43 touchdowns, setting a new single-season record for the Bengals in both categories.

His impressive performance earned him his second Pro Bowl selection and a second NFL Comeback Player of the Year award.

Despite these individual accolades, the Bengals fell short of the playoffs, a result Burrow attributes to the team’s overall performance rather than his own efforts.

“It’s about showing that consistency, showing it year in and year out,” Burrow continued. “I think what separates the legends is being able to do it year in and year out for five, 10 years at a time.”

With top-tier weapons like wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, Burrow has the support needed to elevate his game.

The Bengals’ offensive arsenal

The Bengals’ offense is poised to be one of the most potent in the league, and Burrow’s leadership will be crucial in harnessing that potential.

As the 2025 season approaches, Burrow’s confidence remains steadfast. He is determined to prove that his 2024 performance was no fluke and that he can maintain a high level of play over multiple seasons.

“Trying to be able to find that consistency in my discipline and my process, doing the easy stuff in my sleep and then making the hard stuff look easy, then making a couple of great plays here and there, that’s what I am trying to do every week,” Burrow stated.

With a renewed focus and a talented roster, the Bengals are aiming to make a deep playoff run, and Burrow’s leadership will be at the forefront of that effort.

Joe Burrow’s assertion that he’s the best quarterback in the NFL is a reflection of his confidence, work ethic, and determination. As the 2025 season unfolds, all eyes will be on Burrow to see if he can back up his bold claim with continued excellence on the field.
