Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase made the best play of the NFL training camp so far

If anyone needed a reminder of why the Burrow-Chase connection is one of the most dangerous in the NFL, training camp just delivered it. During a recent session, Joe Burrow launched a perfectly placed deep ball, and Ja’Marr Chase made the kind of catch that makes fans hold their breath then cheer like it’s Sunday in December. It looked easy, but it said a lot. Plays like that don’t happen unless you’re locked in and Burrow and Chase clearly are.

“I love to work,” Chase told reporters after the play. “I’m a workaholic.” And it shows. From the way he ran the route to the way he tracked and secured the ball in stride, Chase looked like he was in midseason form just a few days into camp.

The Bengals duo makes it look easy with highlight-reel connection

The chemistry between Chase and Burrow isn’t just strong, it’s surgical. From LSU to the NFL, they’ve consistently shown they can read each other like a book. And as camp rolls on, that timing only gets sharper. Chase has been Burrow’s favorite target through the first few practices, and it’s clear the duo is already sending a message to the rest of the league: they’re not slowing down.

Let’s not forget the numbers Chase put up last year. He finished with 127 receptions, 1,708 receiving yards, and 17 touchdowns, a stat line that made him a unanimous All-Pro and one of the most feared receivers in the league. And now, coming into a new season, it doesn’t seem like he’s settling for anything less. “At the end of the day, when it’s the fourth quarter and I’m tired, they’re not going to ask me if I’m tired,” Chase said. “It’s all about how hard you can push yourself.”

If this is how Chase and Burrow look in the first week of camp, imagine what they’ll be doing come Week 1. The bar’s already sky high and somehow, they keep raising it.

In a league filled with big name duos, Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase continue to prove they’re in a class of their own. And if this play is any indication, they’re just getting started. The AFC better be paying attention because Cincinnati’s stars are already shining.
