Ghana, after missing the last edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, wanted to reach the next World Cup in style with Joachim Low as coach. However, the German has denied the rumors, at least for the moment, in statements to Sky Sports.

The link with the Black Stars began after the dismissal of Otto Addo following the defeat against Germany, whom Joachim Low led to win the World Cup in 2014. It was a controversial decision just over two months before the ball is set to roll in United States, Mexico and Canada.

A coup that Low himself has been quick to dismiss. “No one in Ghana has contacted me,” he told Sky Sports. However, he does not close the door to accepting the position in case negotiations open up.

Some believe that, after five years away from coaching, Low is already retired. But he himself has expressed his intention to return to work on more than one occasion. “Basically, I have said that I do not want to retire now, especially if another interesting offer arises and with good prospects.” Perhaps it could be Ghana.
