Jerry Jones reacts to “thank you, Jerry” chants and says Micah Parsons trade was “for Dak Prescott”

Green Bay Packers fans didn’t waste their chance to rub it in Jerry Jones’ face. After the team’s Thursday night win over Washington, Lambeau Field erupted into chants of “Thank you, Jerry” when Micah Parsons appeared on the postgame show – a clear shot at the Dallas Cowboys owner who traded away his star defender.

The trolling came after a sizzling 2-0 start for the Packers, who already look like NFC contenders. Under Matt LaFleur, it’s the third time Green Bay has started 2-0; the last two times, they reached the NFC Championship Game.

They knocked off the Lions and Commanders – two teams that each won at least 12 games last season – becoming just the fifth team since 1966 to open with back-to-back wins over such heavyweights.

Jones does not suffer or grieve

And Parsons is at the center of it all. The two-time All-Pro has already logged 68.1% of Green Bay’s defensive snaps and racked up 1.5 sacks in two games, instantly transforming the defense. For Cowboys fans, the chants sting. Parsons was supposed to be the cornerstone in Dallas, but now he’s terrorizing their rivals in green and gold.

Jones, however, isn’t flinching. Speaking on 105.3 The Fan, the Cowboys owner shrugged off the chants, saying, “With the way Green Bay is playing, I’m all for them enjoying and chanting anything they really want. I understand that.” He even compared the moment to the Herschel Walker trade, where early pain eventually turned into long-term gains.

The trade has not been what Dallas expected

Dallas did land three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark and two future first-round picks in return, but Clark’s impact hasn’t matched Parsons’ dominance. Instead, the trade has only increased the pressure on wideout CeeDee Lamb and left fans questioning Jones’ judgment.

For now, the Packers are soaring, the Cowboys are scrambling, and Green Bay’s faithful are making sure Jerry Jones hears every bit of their gratitude.
