Jerry Jones keeps the door open for a receiver to join the Cowboys

The balance of theNFL Draft 2025 was positive after managing to strengthen their offensive line and enhance the backfield, although with the mission of supporting quarterbackDak Prescott, on the wish list was to add a wide receiver, because for now they only have CeeDee Lamb.

The matter is not closed and the Cowboys ownerJerry Jones has already hinted that it remains a possibility to trade for a wide receiver, plus the club is considering Jonathan Mingo, who was acquired in a trade last year.

“It was definitely a great idea, but we haven’t made the leap if we need to improve what we have on campus,” Jerry Jones said via the Cowboys website, adding: “I’m looking at the same sheet that you may have in front of you and that I have in front of me, and it shows our trade to Carolina for Jonathan Mingo, pick number 114. Well, obviously we already knew that.”

The goal is to protect Dak Prescott

During a press conference last Saturday, after selecting Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the 12th overall pick on the first day of the NFL Draft, executive vice president of personnel Stephen Jones felt they were beginning a path to surround Dak Prescott

“We want to protect the most expensive player in the league and complement (receiver) CeeDee (Lamb) and what we’re doing with him. I think all of that helps solidify everything,” said Stephen Jones.

While Jerry Jones took stock of Dallas’ recent process and said he was optimistic about the roster they are forming.

“The current makeup of the team and the players we have right now, this is a really good way to go after a Super Bowl,” Jerry Jones said
