Last season for the Dallas Cowboys was simply dreadful. The team missed the playoffs, and their division rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Washington Commanders, contested the NFC Championship. As a result, the Cowboys need extra work to compete within their division.
One of the team’s major problems was their running game, which was virtually nonexistent last season. They only accumulated a total of 1,705 rushing yards and 6 touchdowns, ranking 25th in that department. At one point in Week 8, they were last in the league, making it an area that Jerry Jones must pay close attention to.
Jerry Jones has his eye on Breece Hall from the New York Jets
Cowboys fans’ biggest wish for the draft is Ashton Jeanty, undoubtedly the best running back in the class. However, that will likely remain a dream, as the Cowboys pick 12th, and it will be difficult for Jeanty to fall to them.
Therefore, Jerry Jones and the Cowboys’ management have started to study the available running backs, but the truth is that there aren’t many options. However, one player-Breece Hall-could be available and practically handed over.
Hall is one of the best running backs in the NFL and has been a key player in the New York Jets’ offense. But as he enters the final year of his contract, it seems that the team is not willing to pay him.
With this situation, the New York Jets could draft Ashton Jeanty and essentially make Breece Hall available for a bargain. Hall is scheduled to make only $3.3 million this year. According to Spotrac, he is projected to eventually receive a four-year contract worth $7 million per year, making him an excellent addition for the Cowboys.

In 2023 and 2024, Hall played full seasons, rushing for 994 and 1,121 yards, respectively. In total, he has accumulated over 2,500 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, solidifying himself as a high-impact running back. Without a doubt, he would solve a major problem for the Cowboys.
