Jerry Jones earns back Cowboys fans’ trust as Kenny Clark begins to soften Micah Parsons blow

It will take a lot for Dallas Cowboys fans to start to trust Jerry Jones again. In what seemed like a layup, for more than one offseason, Jones let personal feelings get in the way of business with arguably his franchise’s most important player. Now, Micah Parsons is on the Green Bay Packers.

If you ask Cowboys fans, just about all of them will place the blame on Jones. It seemed insane to let a generational talent, who’s still young and in his prime, go instead of paying him what he’s worth. But there was a small subsection of Cowboys fans who thought the front office actually got good value in return. In order for that to happen, Kenny Clark would have to revert back to Pro Bowl form. The numbers suggest he’s well on his way.

Kenny Clark is playing at a near Pro Bowl level early in 2025

According to data published by Pro Football Focus, Clark has been one of the best interior defensive lineman through two games this season. Pegged as a primarily adept run defender, Clark is getting it done in pass-rush situations as well.

Clark still has a long way to go before proving Jones right. Parsons has been a dominant force early in his Packers career, too. But if Clark plays like a Pro Bowler and the Cowboys hit on both of the first round draft picks they got from Green Bay, fans may look back in hindsight and understand Jones’ vision.

Unfortunately, Clark playing well hasn’t been enough for a Cowboys defense that’s short on talent and consistency at every other position. They are allowing the third-most yards and sixth-most points in the league heading into Week 3.
