Jazz Chisholm’s opinion on the rivalry with Boston Red Sox has sparked controversy among Yankees fans

Last weekend, Boston’s fans had another special moment to humiliate their arch-enemy and have an overwhelming record of eight wins and two losses this season. Although the Massachusetts team lost three consecutive games before facing the New York Yankees, one against the Miami Marlins and two against the Baltimore Orioles, they lost the top spot in the wild card standings before the series against the Yankees. However, Boston won three of the four games against New York and now sits above the Bronx outfit.

It was a much-needed recovery series, but the Red Sox failed to complete the sweep on Sunday night. This was largely due to the performance of infielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. The second baseman went 2-for-4 against Boston and hit two home runs, as well as driving in four runs in the 7-2 win over Boston. After the game, Chisholm spoke about the rivalry in general, as transcribed by ESPN’s Jorge Castillo.

Chisholm’s words that caused controversyThe reaction of the New York Yankees fans was evident. The widespread booing indicates discontent with their team, with some opinions even suggesting that they do not want to face them again because of how badly they have played. Some indicated that they do not want to face the Boston Red Sox again as they do not provide security in terms of pitching and hitting. However, second baseman Jazz Chisholm wants to face them again despite having a 20% success rate against the zone rival. “I always want to play against Boston. I feel the energy of the game, the way our fans come out, the way their fans come out; I feel like it’s a really intense game.”

“Every game against Boston here has felt like a playoff game. So, in my case, I know that’s exactly what we’re going to have, and we’re going to have to get ready for the playoffs, and I know a lot of the guys here feel that way too.” Without a doubt, this American League Classic is one that no one wants to miss, but it is clear that the current campaign has been dominated by the Reds

When do the Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees play again?

The next and final series between the two teams will be from September 12-14 at Fenway Park. This is one more reason for Yankees fans to avoid this game. However, it would be an opportunity to seek sporting revenge in the Red Sox’s own home. It’s never good to lose, but Boston won the series and that’s all that matters. In recent years, the Red Sox have not been on the same level as New York.

So seeing these two rivals competing for playoff spots and battling it out down the stretch is what matters. If things continue like this, maybe we’ll end up seeing these two teams face off beyond the regular season. Wouldn’t that be great? To see them again in the postseason. That would really rekindle the rivalry.
