Jazz Chisholm minimizes Yankees crisis: “This is nothing compared to what I went through before”

The Yankees have lost six straight games and have lost ground in the race for first place in the American League East.

However, for Chisholm, the experience he had during his time with the Marlins is enough to put this bad streak in context. The 27-year-old infielder, one of the best performers in June, believes the current situation is far from alarming.

“I’ve played for the Marlins. I’ve seen some really bad teams go through tough times, and believe me, this is nothing compared to what I’ve been through before,” Chisholm said.

I still believe that we’re going to be OK

Chisholm arrived at the Yankees midway through last season and has been open about the internal challenges he faced in Miami, especially in relation to the locker room culture.

Despite having played in the postseason with the Marlins in 2020 and 2023, the Nassau-born player believes that the stability in New York is greater, even in difficult times.

Chisholm has contributed with his offense. In June, he hit .318 with seven home runs and a .992 OPS, figures that stand out despite some criticism for his defense at third base, a position that is not natural for him.

Chisholm confident Yankees will turn things around

With almost half a season to go, the Yankees will have the opportunity to right the ship and get back into the fight for the top. And if Jazz Chisholm Jr. has made one thing clear, it is that he does not intend to give up or let himself be dragged down by pessimism.
