Jaydon Blue nearly ruined his own Cowboys debut by picking wrong pair of “cool” cleats

The Dallas Cowboys are eager to secure their second victory of the NFL season as they prepare to visit the New York Jets in a thrilling matchup at MetLife Stadium. Determined to maintain momentum and showcase their progress, the Cowboys are focused on presenting a stronger, more balanced team. To do so, they’ll need standout performances like the one that rookie running back Jaydon Blue could mark.

The Dallas Cowboys haven’t had the start to the season they were hoping for, opening with a rusty 1-2-1 record through their first four games. However, in their most recent matchup against the Green Bay Packers, one of the league’s top teams, the “America’s Team” delivered an impressive performance, battling to a 40-point draw and showing signs of renewed confidence.

The upcoming game against the New York Jets could be the perfect opportunity for Jaydon Blue to make his NFL debut with the Dallas Cowboys. However, his availability remained uncertain until recently due to an issue with his cleat selection, a seemingly minor detail that nearly complicated his long-awaited first appearance in the league.

All eyes on Jaydon Blue ahead of potential NFL debut amid his cleat choice

Jaydon Blue has already seen action with the Dallas Cowboys during the preseason, after being selected in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by Jerry Jones’ franchise. Now, he could be in line for his first regular-season appearance this Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

With Miles Sanders and KaVontae Turpin missing practice this week, Jaydon Blue may have an opportunity to step up and contribute to the Cowboys’ offensive rotation. After being a healthy scratch earlier in the season, the rookie is now eligible to suit up and could see his first regular-season action against the New York Jets.

However, the path for Jaydon Blue to reach this point hasn’t been easy. Earlier this week, the rookie made headlines after wearing custom Nike x Louis Vuitton cleats during practice. The blue-colored design drew attention for its stylish look, but coaches quickly made it clear that it wasn’t the ideal choice for game preparation.

Brian Schottenheimer explains why Jaydon Blue’s Louis Vuitton cleats were not the right choice

Brian Schoittenheimer, the team leader, addressed the controversy surrounding Jaydon Blue’s choice of cleats. According to the head coach, the decision to wear them resulted in Blue developing painful blisters, raising questions about equipment choices and player safety. The situation highlights the fine line between performance gear and player well-being.

Brian Schottenheimer called it “a little questionable decision,” noting that Jaydon Blue “went out there with some cool new cleats Louis Vuitton Nikes. But they give you blisters!” The team leader’s comments highlight the tension between flashy gear and practical performance on the field.

The head coach recalled, “About halfway through practice, I saw him laying there. I said, ‘What the hell happened to Blue?’ He said, ‘Coach, I’m fine. I got blisters.’ I said, ‘Oh, shocker. Look at the cool shoes you got.'” The footwear mishap initially threatened Blue’s participation against the New York Jets, but he quickly switched shoes during practice, keeping his game plans on track.
