Jayden Waddle have a clear focus for the upcoming season with the Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins have a debt to settle after a disappointing 8-9 finish last season, which saw them miss the playoffs. It’s a setback that wide receiverJaylen Waddle hasn’t forgotten. With the new season approaching, Waddle is focused on bouncing back and helping lead the team to a playoff return, the Dolphins’ clear goal heading into the campaign.

For now, the Miami Dolphins are deep into training camp, focused on making meaningful strides ahead of the upcoming season. Head coach Mike McDaniel understands the weight of expectations and the responsibility of leading a team hungry for a return to the playoffs.

Since joining the Dolphins in 2021 as the sixth overall pick in the NFL Draft, Jaylen Waddle has consistently showcased his talent and value to the Florida franchise. Now entering a pivotal year, Waddle is determined to take on a leadership role and help guide Miami back to the playoffs, the goal that narrowly slipped away last season.

Jayden Waddle, and his time with the Dolphins

Jaylen Waddle has built his reputation on explosive speed, crisp route-running, and a rare ability to turn routine catches into electrifying, game-changing moments. For that reason, he had achieved some high performances in the last four seasons with the Miami Dolphins.

Since being drafted, Jaylen Waddle has delivered strong production for the Dolphins, quickly establishing himself as a key offensive weapon. However, last season he missed two games and finished with 58 receptions for 744 yards and two touchdowns, snapping his streak of consecutive 1,000-yard seasons that he had built in his first three years.

Nevertheless, the wide receiver has continued to prove to head coach Mike McDaniel that he remains a vital part of the team’s offensive dynamic, capable of delivering in big moments and chasing another 1,000-yard season in 2025.

The mindset of Jayden Waddle for the upcoming season

Still, while the prospect of another 1,000-yard season is on the table, Waddle remains focused on team success above all. The 26-year-old wide receiver made it clear during training camp that his priority is contributing to a strong collective performance as the Dolphins aim to return to playoff contention.

“What’s 1,000 yards if it’s not a winning season? I think it all goes back to team success,” Waddle said, emphasizing the importance of collective performance over individual accolades. He added, “What’s the point of having a great individual season without going to the playoffs and making a run?” a clear affirmation of his team-first mindset heading into the new campaign.

Waddle also made it clear what his main objective is for the upcoming season: helping the team win. “I’m just trying to help my team win because I think that’s what matters,” he said. “People get lost in individual success and forget about team success.”

For now, the Miami Dolphins remain focused on the upcoming season – one in which they’ll aim to bounce back and return to the playoffs. Their campaign kicks off on September 7 with a road matchup against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.
