The 2025 NFL season is just around the corner and the Preseason has only increased expectations.
For example, the Bills vs Giants duel, which ended with a 25-34 score in favor of New York, gave us one of the most moving moments of this first preseason game.
The first game in the NFL is always a special moment for any player, but for Jaxson Dart, it was much more than that.
After a standout performance in his debut, the young quarterback had an emotional reunion with his mother that was captured on camera and touched many.
Promising debut for Giants’ new quarterback
Jaxson Dart had a solid performance in the Giants’ win in Orchard Park, New York.
The quarterback completed 12 of 19 passes for 159 yards and threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Lil’Jordan Humphrey, showing why the team trusts him as a possible key piece for the future.
Although his participation was brief, he made the most of his time. He came on after a short appearance by Russell Wilson and made his mark with a precise pass in the second quarter. After connecting with Humphrey, Dart joined his teammates in the end zone showing good team cohesion. Images that fill Giants fans with hope.
Later, Jameis Winston and Tommy DeVito also saw action in the second half of the game. Head coach Brian Daboll appreciated the team’s effort but was clear that there are still areas for improvement:
There were good things, but also many things we need to correct
Jaxson Dart’s moment with his mom moves fans
Beyond his performance on the field, what really captured the public’s attention was an intimate and moving gesture after the final whistle.
The cameras recorded the moment Jaxson Dart approached the stands to hug his mother, Kara, who was waiting for him with an excited smile.
Kara had already made headlines on Draft night when the Giants selected her son with the 25th overall pick in a decision that surprised many.
This time, he was once again the protagonist in a moment full of emotion, pride and hope for the young quarterback and his family.
Dart, reflecting on her debut, showed maturity and focus:
“I’m comfortable when the pressure comes. I knew we would have that one-on-one opportunity, and L.J. went over the top. A lot of times, those split-second plays make the difference.”
Dart, at just 23 years old, seems confident and focused, probably due to the support of his family, so it is not unreasonable to suggest that we could be witnessing the emergence of a new NFL figure.
