Jaxson Dart and Shedeur Sanders may be on vacation, but that has not stopped them from already being at the center of a fierce battle

Even though the playoffs are underway, there are teams that have already been eliminated but continue to draw attention, such as the New York Giants and the Cleveland Browns. Both franchises fired their head coaches, and one of them has already found a replacement: the Giants signed John Harbaugh to a five-year deal, landing the best available coach on the market.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns remain in search of a new head coach after firing Kevin Stefanski, who has already landed a new job as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Not surprisingly, Stefanski is a two-time Head Coach of the Year, so finding a new position was never going to be an issue.

As a result, the Giants now have John Harbaugh, who spent 18 years leading the Baltimore Ravens, won a Super Bowl, and developed quarterbacks such as Joe Flacco and Lamar Jackson. The Browns, on the other hand, are still waiting to hire the head coach who will decide whether Shedeur Sanders will remain the starting quarterback of the Cleveland franchise.

The Cleveland Browns are still searching for a head coach

When it was announced that John Harbaugh would become the new head coach of the New York Giants, Todd Monken immediately emerged as the favorite to take over as offensive coordinator and oversee the development of Jaxson Dart. However, in recent hours there has been growing speculation that New York may need to wait before making a final decision.

Reports indicate that Todd Monken, former offensive coordinator of the Baltimore Ravens, will have his second interview with the Cleveland Browns this Monday for their head coaching vacancy. This makes sense, as it was reported during the season that the Ravens were interested in selecting Shedeur Sanders in the most recent Draft, but the quarterback declined the opportunity.

Despite a very difficult 2025 season for the Baltimore Ravens, largely due to Lamar Jackson’s injuries, Monken’s work has been outstanding. During the 2023 and 2024 seasons, he built one of the best offenses in the NFL, ranking first in red-zone touchdown percentage and first in rushing yards per game.

On top of that, Monken was the architect behind one of the two MVP awards won by Lamar Jackson. As a result, the Giants will have to wait and see what happens with the future of the offensive coordinator, who, despite his interest in becoming a head coach, remains the betting favorite to become the Giants’ offensive coordinator.
