Jason Kelce revealed that it wasn’t just the NFL that fined him: the Eagles did too

Jason Kelce shone as one of the best centers for the Philadelphia Eagles. He was crowned Super Bowl champion, named to the All-Pro first team six times, and selected for the Pro Bowl seven times. However, he also racked up fines.

After 13 years in the NFL, he received penalties like almost every other player in the league, but he recently revealed that the Eagles also penalized him.

Jason admitted to receiving multiple fines from the Eagles

At 36 years old, on March 4, 2023, Jason said goodbye to the NFL in tears and deeply moved after spending more than a decade shining on the only team he ever played for.

Beyond his leadership and professionalism, the former center also assured that in those 13 years wearing the Eagles’ colors, he could not avoid receiving punishments from the team. During his appearance on the “Dudes on Dudes Podcast,” he revealed the reasons for his fines:

“I got fined by the team,” Kelce admitted. “I’ve gotten fined for being late and missing meetings. I know, not good. I want to emphasize not common… You’re late for one thing, and they’ve gotta keep you honest.”

During the chat, Kelce also claimed to have received a penalty from the league: “Well, I got fined by the NFL, too,” he recalled.

Jason’s fine dates back to October 2021, during a Week 7 game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The former center was blocking Corey Littleton when his helmet was knocked off and, according to reports, he was hit in the groin. Jason continued to push the LB to the ground and even stood on him, earning him a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct and a $10,300 fine.

However, that was the only time he received such a penalty in his 13-year career. Since retiring, the current ESPN commentator has remained involved in the sport, investing in multiple businesses and leading the world of podcasting with “New Heights,” which he hosts with his younger brother and Chiefs TE Travis Kelce.

However, this anecdote shows that not even a future Hall of Famer can evade the mandatory rules of the team and the league.
