Jason Kelce mocks his brother Travis’ latest announcement and takes a merciless shot at all the tight ends

As Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce prepares for his 13th NFL season, he’s also gearing up for another year at Tight End University (TEU) and Jason Kelce is making sure he finds the humor in it.

The 35-year-old founded the event to help develop and celebrate the tight end position, offering a chance for professionals to sharpen up their skills and innovate the role from June 23-25 in Nashville, Tennessee.

Founded in 2021 by Kelce, George Kittle, and Greg Olsen, TEU has quickly taken off and also offers film analysis and rest and recovery practises for further education, and expectations are high for another impactful year.

However, Jason, who played as a center for the Philadelphia Eagles from 2011-2024, joked about the occasion by claiming no NFL fan is a fan of the tight end role.

“Fans of tight ends? So, nobody?” Jason said on the New Heights podcast, to which Travis responded by saying. “That’s f**ked up. You throw a ball through your legs, Jason.”

Travis, who has three Super Bowl rings to his name, is returning once again as both a participant and mentor thanks to his vast experience and success as the Chiefs’ leading touchdown scorer. He’s also a 10-time Pro Bowler and has played over 170 games.

He’s upbeat for the occasion and enthusiastically celebrates the opportunity and successes it can offer his fellow positional peers as they all look to claim the First Team All-Pro honors.

The summit’s mission is to foster collaboration and advancement at one of football’s most physically and mentally demanding positions, a role Travis described as “the greatest position ever created”.

Kelce brothers continue historic rivalry

Jason, now retired, built a Hall of Fame-caliber career as a center with the Philadelphia Eagles, anchoring the offensive line and earning widespread respect for his leadership and toughness in the trenches.

Travis, in contrast, has become one of the most dynamic receiving threats in the league, redefining the tight end position through his athleticism, route-running, and versatility; as well as his chemistry with Patrick Mahomes.

The Kelce brothers have long been known for their humorous, competitive banter so both will be aware it’s completely in jest, continuing the lighthearted rivalry between the two that even culminated in a face off in the 2021/22 Super Bowl, which Travis won.

The joke also shines a spotlight on TEU and its role in elevating the tight end position and gives it some extra publicity, which historically hasn’t always received the same acclaim as quarterback or wide receiver roles.

Jason now works in punditry whilst Travis will turn his attention to the 2025/26 NFL season as he enters the final year of his contract with the Chiefs, keen to avenge his defeat in Super Bowl LIX to Jalen Hurts‘ Eagles side. Will he be able to do so?
