As the NFL season fades into the background, the spotlight around Travis Kelce has shifted firmly off the field and onto his upcoming wedding with global pop icon Taylor Swift.
That focus intensified this week when Travis‘ older brother, Jason Kelce, was asked directly about his involvement in the ceremony and whether he is preparing a best-man speech.
Speaking during an appearance on Good Morning America, Jason offered a measured answer that revealed little but underscored how closely held the plans remain.
“Time will tell if there is one or anything like that,” Jason said when asked about a best-man role. “I’ve been given no details on that front. However I’m involved, I’ll be happy to be, and I’m just happy for those two.”
The comments immediately fueled speculation rather than quieted it. Given the brothers’ close relationship and Jason‘s standing as one of the most respected figures in the Kelce family, many fans have long assumed he would play a central role.
Instead, his remarks suggest that even immediate family members are learning details gradually.
Travis proposed to Swift in August after two years together, cementing a relationship that has transcended the usual boundaries between sports and entertainment.
Over that time, both have been visible supporters of one another. Swift became a regular presence at Kansas City Chiefs games, while Kelce frequently attended Eras Tour stops and even joined her onstage during a London show.
A partnership built in the public eye
Sources familiar with the couple say that same balance has carried into their wedding planning. According to PEOPLE, the process has been shared rather than driven by one side.
“When it comes to wedding planning, nothing feels rushed or one-sided,” a source told PEOPLE. “They’re both equally involved and excited. They’re approaching it as a partnership and enjoying the process.”
Swift herself has reflected on how different this relationship feels compared to past ones. In her Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era, she described how touring once felt like an obstacle to her personal life, but no longer does.
“I realized with this person in my life, you can have the two passions coexist, and they actually fuel each other,” Swift said.
Family support has also been front and center. Swift has spent time with Jason‘s wife Kylie Kelce and their children at Arrowhead Stadium, sitting with them in a private suite while cheering on Travis. Kylie later shared that the experience was as much about family togetherness as football.
Jason, for his part, has previously joked that he hoped to land the best-man role, acknowledging that Travis has a wide circle of friends. His more recent comments, however, suggest that nothing is assumed and everything remains fluid.
For now, the lack of concrete details appears intentional. With both Kelce and Swift accustomed to life in the public eye, keeping the focus on their partnership rather than ceremony specifics may be the point.
As Jason Kelce‘s comments made clear, whatever role he ends up playing, the emphasis within the family is less about titles and more about celebrating what comes next for his brother and Swift.
