Former boxer and now prominent businessman Floyd Mayweather can boast of never having been beaten in the ring, as he retired from boxing as an undefeated fighter. However, there is someone who can boast not only of having hit him, but of knocking him out in the ring, actor Jamie Foxx.
Foxx recalled this during the promotion of his new film on Netflix with Cameron Diaz, ‘Back in Action’. The actor, who is now a good friend of the famous ‘Money‘, confessed to having hit him during the filming of a film that for Floyd’s sake has not seen the light of day, and probably never will.
In the video, Foxx was asked about the most famous person he had punched in a movie, and the actor quickly replied with the name of Floyd Mayweather Jr: “Yes. I got a chance to knock out Floyd Mayweather. In a movie that will probably never be released called ‘All-Star Weekend'”.
Foxx knocked out ‘Money’ in that tape
That wasn’t the first time Mayweather appeared in a movie, but it was the first time he was knocked out on screen, and the actor said he was nervous about giving the undefeated boxer his first taste of the canvas, even if it was in a fictional setting: “I’m doing this and then I have to literally hit him and it’s the only time you see Floyd Mayweather get hit. He was like ‘it’s okay. J Foxx, it’s not real’, to which I thought ‘if it was real, come on’“, he said with Cameron Diaz.
Foxx and Mayweather are now accomplices and very good friends, and appear together from time to time, although they have not remembered this episode, which would surely make them both uncomfortable. Foxx is a big fan of ‘Money’ and a faithful follower of boxing, while Mayweather is also said to be a fan of the actor.
