Shedeur Sanders lead the Cleveland Browns to victory over the Carolina Panthers 30-10 during week 1 of the NFL Preseason… and Hollywood superstar Jamie Foxx was watching closely.
The Academy Award and Grammy winner is a fan of Shedeur, as well as many music artists such as Lil Wayne, Loe Shimmy, Kodak Black, as well as superstar athletes such as LeBron James, CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott, among others.
There’s no doubt about it: Shedeur brings a new level of hype to the Cleveland Browns. And his performance on the field has eraned him more reps with the first team, with rookie quarterback Dillon Gabriel sidelined with a hamstring, as well as former first round pick Kenny Pickett.
Foxx has a wild reaction to Shedeur’s two touchdowns
Jamie Foxx lit up social media after Shedeur Sanders‘ two-touchdown preseason debut with the Browns, slipping into his iconic “Any Given Sunday” persona: quarterback Willie Beamen, superstar of the Miami Sharks, who became an icon for sports movies.
In a clip filmed in front of a massive TV, Foxx shouted Willie Beamen’s famous line, hyped up Sanders‘ talent, and flashed his watch, a nod to Shedeur’s signature celebration. The move has become widely used for athletes and young fans.
With actors and rappers already among his fans, Sanders‘ NFL journey is quickly becoming a celebrity favorite. And if this debut is any sign, the love from Hollywood and many other areas outside of football, is just getting started.
Some key factors for the Browns
The Cleveland Browns‘ victory over the Carolina Panthers had some key factors that helped the franchise get the win. Wide receiver Kaden Davis recorded two touchdowns. His first catch came on a 7-yard pass from Shedeur Sanders in the end zone through tight coverage; the second came on a 12-yard pass from Sanders to close out the first half.
Meanwhile linebacker Carson Schwesinger led the Browns‘ defense with a total of six tackles, including four solo tackles and two combined tackles. Tha’s the kind of effort Cleveland is going to need if they want to have a winning season after a terrible 2024.
Shedeur Sanders increased his completion percentage by 10.87 percent from the first quarter through a majority of the third quarter. The rookie quarterback’s completion percentage was 50 percent in the first quarter and 60.87 when he finished his action on the turf with less than three minutes left in the third quarter.
