Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni had fans breathing a sigh of relief with his latest update on star quarterback Jalen Hurts following a dramatic injury scare. After being sacked by Rams safety Jaylen McCollough, Hurts left the field for a brief checkup but miraculously returned, sporting a knee brace on his left leg.
Despite the apparent setback, Hurts powered through, delivering a critical 44-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter that set the tone for the Eagles’ victory over the Rams. When questioned about his injury post-game, Hurts offered a vague response: “I’m just seeing how the week will go. Seeing how things progress.”
Days of speculation were finally put to rest when Sirianni declared, “We are preparing with Hurts being the quarterback,” confirming Hurts’ readiness for the Eagles’ upcoming divisional clash against the Commanders.

Elliot is going through a bad time
With Hurts leading the charge, the Eagles are bracing for a tough showdown against a Commanders team that just hung 45 points on Detroit.
However, fans will also be keeping a close eye on another key player-kicker Jake Elliott, who faced intense scrutiny after missing two extra-point attempts in snowy conditions at Lincoln Field.
Elliott’s struggles began after Hurts’ heroic touchdown when his first missed kick allowed the Rams to snatch a one-point lead. A second miss in the fourth quarter added unnecessary tension as the Rams closed the gap to six points. Fortunately, a late turnover by Los Angeles secured the Eagles’ spot in the NFC Championship.
Siranni has faith in his kicker
Despite the blunders, Sirianni showed unwavering support for his kicker, stating, “He’s 6-for-6 in the playoffs on field goals in adverse conditions. I got a lot of faith in Jake, and I know he’s clutch when we need him to be clutch.”
Elliott’s playoff résumé is second only to Robbie Gould’s, with 20 playoff field goals underscoring his reliability. Yet, his eight misses this season are a concerning trend. As the Eagles eye a Super Bowl return, both Hurts’ resilience and Elliott’s redemption will be critical in their quest for glory.
