Jalen Hurts gets destroyed by in-house Eagles source that could explain AJ Brown fallout

Even during their dominating run to a Super Bowl triumph during the 2024 NFL season, something odd still seemed to be festering within the Philadelphia Eagles. From the outside looking in, it felt like the players and head coach Nick Sirianni were slightly disconnected.

That clearly didn’t affect the team’s performance that season, but it certainly did in 2025. Sirianni and star wide receiver A.J. Brown weren’t seeing eye-to-eye, and the team wasn’t responding on the field like the roster’s talent level suggested they should be. Quarterback Jalen Hurts was the subject of plenty of criticism despite putting together a relatively good season.

The team, and Hurts, were exposed in the first game of the playoffs by the San Francisco 49ers. That loss triggered the front office to fire much-maligned offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo after just one season.Despite Brown trade rumors running rampant, he remains on the team. Sirianni is still there, and he must get on the same page with Brown, Hurts and everyone else in order for the team to succeed.

Is Jalen Hurts the reason for Eagles’ dysfunction?

But something clearly isn’t right within the locker room, even after Patullo’s exit. A lot of signs are pointing to Hurts as the reason, as a new report from an alleged team source within the locker room paints the quarterback in a very negative light among his teammates and coaches.

“Poor body language, not always bought in, not the most coachable and the players notice.”

Hurts’ reserved nature and stoic personality has been a constant source of discussion, through his best moments and his worst ones. There’s definitely a benefit to having such a cool demeanor, but it sounds like many within the Eagles organization aren’t huge fans of that aspect of Hurts.

It’s fair to wonder if this feeling about Hurts extends to his teammates, including Brown, who has been constantly frustrated with how the offense operates. Hurts is the one who’s supposed to make it all work, but he hasn’t, and these new details might be why.
