Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua conpiracy theories now in full force: “It’s hard to believe”

No one actually thought Jake Paul would be able to pull off something of this magnitude. When Paul called out both Gervonta Davis and Anthony Joshua following his win over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., it was taken as a joke by almost everyone. But no one was laughing when “Tank” accepted Paul’s offer.

Legal issues put the Paul-Davis fight on the backburner, forcing the YouTuber-turned-boxer to look elsewhere. He could have chosen an easy opponent, but somehow he was able to convince Joshua to make magic happen. Money talks and both boxers are set to make a ton of money on December 19. On paper, Paul is in for an absolute beating that could very well threaten his health.

Joshua is a massive man, even amongst his fellow heavyweights. The only real stipulation to keep things somewhat even are that Joshua can’t exceed 245 pounds when weighing in. That’s still much more than Paul usually fights at. Then there’s the reach advantage, experience advantage and punching power advantage. It all bodes very poorly for Paul. Which is why people aren’t fully convinced it’s going to be a truly real fight.

Do Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua have an “undisclosed agreement” to protect Paul?

Barry McGuigan, a Hall of Fame boxer who is now a promoter, spoke in an interview with Betway recently. He isn’t buying the idea of Paul and Joshua facing each other without some “undisclosed agreement”.

It’s hard to believe they wouldn’t have signed some sort of caveat. Look at it coldly: how is Joshua being matched with this guy? Look at what Joshua did to Francis Ngannou… Then you think: Tommy Fury beat Jake Paul. So, how is Jake Paul going to get through Joshua? It almost seems ridiculous – so ridiculous that it’s hard to believe there isn’t some agreement saying, ‘I won’t go flat out with you.’

McGuigan is certainly not the only one that feels this way. Paul’s fight against Mike Tyson was a joke in many fans’ eyes. They couldn’t come to a conclusion about whether Tyson threw the fight or simply showed his age. Joshua is not even close to 58 years old, so if the Paul-Joshua fight isn’t a lopsided affair, match-fixing allegations will run rampant.
