What seemed like a joke at one point in time is set to turn into a reality in 10 days. On December 19, Jake Paul will step into the ring and fight against Anthony Joshua, in one of the most lopsided matchups in boxing history. It’s a shocking event that’s set to be a massive financial success, but could come at a major health cost for Paul.
Assuming Joshua goes full blast and there’s no funny business, Paul could be in major trouble. Not everyone is convinced that that will be the case. Conspiracy theories are in full force given the stunning nature of the fight. The only true rule making things even is that Joshua can’t weigh in at more than 245 pounds. Knowing he’s in a very precarious situation, Paul has resorted to mind games to try to get in Joshua’s head less than two beeks before the bout.
Jake Paul signs Caroline Dubois to MVP 10 days before Anthony Joshua fight
On Tuesday, Paul announced that his company, Most Valuable Promotions, has signed Caroline Dubois to a deal and she will fight on the Paul-Joshua card on December 19. She is, of course, Daniel Dubois‘ 24-year-old sister and the current WBC female lightweight champion.
Joshua’s last professional fight was against Dubois, in September of 2024. Joshua lost via a fifth round knockout. Paul thinks bringing in a member of the Dubois family on fight night will rattle Joshua, although that’s a bit of a stretch.
Regardless of whether those mind games work, MVP is adding a champion to their stacked roster of women’s boxing stars. Dubois joins the likes of Amanda Serrano, Alycia Baumgardner, Yokasta Valle and many more elite boxers on MVP.
