The Jake Paul-Mike Tyson mega-fight is heating up-and Paul is not holding back. On Thursday, the YouTuber-turned-boxer posted a jaw-dropping clip of himself flooring a sparring partner twice his size, followed by a direct warning for his legendary opponent: “Don’t charge at me, Tyson!”
Paul, who is gearing up for the highly anticipated November 15 bout at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, has left no stone unturned in his preparation. For the first time in his career, he’s moving up to heavyweight, facing some of the biggest men in the gym as he trains to take on Tyson.
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Paul predicted that Tyson will attempt to corner him early in the fight. “I know he’s going to try to force me against the ropes,” Paul said. But he believes the 58-year-old Tyson might not have the stamina to keep up over the eight-round distance.
Paul eyes strategy, Tyson’s stamina in eight-round duel
While Tyson’s power remains dangerous, Paul plans to stay outside Tyson’s reach, relying on his footwork to force the boxing icon out of position before launching his attacks. “When he’s off-balance, that’s when I’ll move in,” Paul explained.
The bout was initially set for July 20 but was postponed after Tyson suffered a health scare. The former heavyweight champion had an ulcer flare-up on a flight to Los Angeles, forcing doctors to declare him unfit to fight.
Tyson later blamed “too much bad food” for the issue and revealed that he has since switched to a clean diet in preparation for the fight. “I was doing too much bad food and stuff, and I got sick,” Tyson told the Daily Mail. Now, he insists he’s fully recovered and ready for the fight of a lifetime.
The countdown to November 15
With both fighters motivated and ready, the November 15 showdown promises to be one of the most-watched events of the year. Tyson’s legendary power meets Paul’s youth and unorthodox style in a fight that has captivated fans worldwide.
Whether the old lion can still roar or Paul can claim the biggest scalp of his career will be decided under the bright lights in Texas. One thing is certain: Jake Paul is ready-and Tyson better not charge in recklessly.
