Jake Paul backtracks after bizarre claim that Mike Tyson was ‘cured’ of Parkinson’s

Jake Paul found himself in hot water after making an outlandish claim about boxing legend Mike Tyson’s health. During a conversation with streamer Adin Ross about psychedelics, Paul bizarrely stated that Tyson was once diagnosed with Parkinson’s but was ‘cured’ by smoking toad.

“Ayahuasca is really good for your brain as well. And same with toad! Toad cured Tyson’sParkinson’s so that he could come back and fight,” Paul confidently declared. When pressed on how it worked, he simply responded, “You smoke it.”

His remarks immediately sparked confusion and concern among fans, leading Paul to quickly retract his statement on social media.

Paul clarifies his mistake

Shortly after the controversy erupted, Paul took to social media to address the backlash, blaming the internet for taking his words out of context.

“Bruh…Mike Tyson didn’t have no Parkinson’s…WTF. Why the f*** is the internet so stupid for. I misspoke,” Paul wrote. “Meant he used toad to heal his pain. He has spoken about it many times. Just like I do. Just like many do.”

A spokesperson for Tyson also stepped in to shut down the rumors, confirming to DailyMail.com that the former heavyweight champion is in good health.

“Mike is happy and perfectly healthy,” the spokesperson said. “He doesn’t have Parkinson’s or any other illness.”

Despite Paul’s initial claim, Parkinson’s disease is currently incurable, and while various treatments can help manage symptoms, there is no known cure.

Tyson’s controversial return to the ring

Mike Tyson’s return to boxing has been a hot topic of debate, with many questioning whether he should continue fighting. Speaking at a horse racing event last month, Tyson admitted he still hadn’t fully recovered from his bout with Paul.

“You know what I remember? Coming back from the first round, and then the next thing I remember, Jake is doing some kind of bow,” Tyson told Covino & Rich on FOX Sports.

Reports suggest that Tyson walked away with a massive $20 million paycheck from the fight. However, his family, especially his wife, Lakiha Spicer, has expressed strong opposition to him stepping back into the ring.

His son, Amir Tyson, reinforced this sentiment, stating, “I think he’s done. My stepmom, she’s saying he’s done, and they’re a team. That’s husband-and-wife stuff.”

Despite concerns from his loved ones, Tyson remains his own man, and whether or not he fights again is ultimately up to him.
