Jake Paul never tires of generating controversy with his statements, this time for his fights outside the ring. Now, after his unanimous decision victory over former world champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on Saturday night, Paul not only responded to criticism, but also threatened to take legal action against those who question the legitimacy of his fight.
The conflict between Paul and British journalist Piers Morgan ignited days before the fight. During an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored, the YouTuber was visibly upset by the host’s comments.
The tension increased when Morgan questioned Paul’s chances against a prime Mike Tyson. “Don’t you think I can beat Mike Tyson? I don’t think you go to the gym!” replied Paul in a defiant tone.

The discussion escalated when Morgan confronted him with a direct criticism: “When you face a real boxer… it could all come crashing down.”Paul replied harshly: “The problem here, Piers, is that you think your opinion matters.” Finally, the influencer left the set and closed with a phrase that caused a stir on social networks
I just came to take your audience and sell pay-per-views. I don’t care about your show, you idiot
After the interview, Morgan did not remain silent. In a message posted on his X account, he wrote:
“I had a better fight with Jake Paul on Thursday than the farce we saw tonight. The guy is lining his pockets with loads of $$$$ – but he’s killing boxing with this boring, staged garbage against fighters way past their prime.”
Jake Paul threatens to sue him for defamation
In response to these accusations, Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), vigorously defended the event and denied any manipulation in the fight:
“This statement is unfounded and irresponsible. The fight against Chavez Jr. was an official 10-round cruiserweight bout, regulated by the California State Athletic Commission, with official judges. There was no setup or fix, just hard work and a legitimate victory,” he wrote on X.
Bidarian added that such accusations affect not only Jake Paul, but also the reputation of MVP and the sport itself:
To say otherwise undermines the integrity of boxing and causes reputational damage. Enough is enough. We are considering all options, including legal action, to hold those who spread these deliberate and harmful lies accountable,” he said
For his part, Jake Paul also spoke out directly, announcing that his tolerance for detractors has come to an end:
After years of letting the haters say what they want, I have asked my team to act forcefully against anyone who invents lies about my career as a boxer. Get ready to be sued, pigs.
This is not the first time the legitimacy of a Jake Paul fight has been called into question, as last November, his bout against Mike Tyson was also the subject of speculation about a possible staging. What is a fact is that Jake Paul has become one of the most influential and criticized figures in the world of boxing.
