Jail? Not for this NFL player: Demarcus Robinson walks after DUI plea deal

Demarcus Robinson is staying out of jail-but not entirely off the hook-after resolving his DUI case in Los Angeles earlier this week.

The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver was handed a $390 fine and sentenced to probation eight months after he was pulled over while driving over 100 mph. The arrest happened back in November 2024 when Robinson was still with the Los Angeles Rams. According to authorities, he was behind the wheel of a white Dodge sedan, driving without a license and with a reported blood alcohol content of 0.08-right at the legal limit.

On Tuesday, Robinson appeared in court and agreed to complete a three-month alcohol education program. He was also placed on 36 months of informal probation. His attorney, Jacquelin Sparagna, told TMZ Sports that he’s already made “significant progress” and could be eligible for early termination of probation at the 18-month mark.

A Fresh Start in the Bay Doesn’t Erase the Past

While the legal side of the case is now mostly behind him, Robinson may still face consequences from the NFL. The league’s personal conduct policy allows for disciplinary action even if jail time isn’t involved. So far, the NFL has not publicly commented.

Robinson is coming off a strong season with the Rams, catching 31 passes for 505 yards and a career-high seven touchdowns. That performance helped land him a two-year, $9.5 million contract with the 49ers in March-where he’s expected to add depth and explosiveness to an already stacked receiver room.

A Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs, Robinson has built a reputation as a big-play threat. His 6.3 yards after catch per reception in 2024 was the highest of his career, and he’s looking to build on that in San Francisco with Brock Purdy under center.

Training camp is around the corner, and barring action from the league, Robinson is set to hit the field with the Niners as planned.
