“It feels surreal to be in this position,” Paige Bueckers said, reflecting on her All-Star selection. She went on to express gratitude for her journey and current success: “I’ve just been extremely grateful, feeling extremely blessed to be here with the best players in the league, just trying to soak it all in and enjoy it as much as I can.” Her remarks were shared in a video posted by the WNBA.

The other rising star: Sonia Citron, ready for the big stage

Sonia Citron joined the Washington Mystics following a standout season at Notre Dame, where she led her team with consistency and poise. That’s why she ended up in the Washington Mystics, performing at a high level and demonstrating her full potential being one of the best players on her team.

Her impressive play with the Mystics earned her a spot on the All-Star roster, marking her debut in the league’s premier showcase. She shared her reaction on the WNBA’s X account, expressing how shocked and honored she felt to receive the nomination.

“It’s a shock; I still don’t think it’s hit me. It’s an amazing feeling. I’m really grateful for this opportunity and this experience.” Citron was expressed in the short video published by the WNBA account.

Both rookie players are ready for the showdown this Saturday, where the league’s top talent will showcase their skills in a game that promises elite competition at Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
