While the Los Angeles Dodgers await their opponent between the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers to play the 2025 National League Championship Series in the MLB playoffs, the Blues are being linked with the signing of another superstar in the upcoming free agency.

The next Major League Baseball free agency market begins the day after the 2025 MLB World Series ends, which the Los Angeles Dodgers are looking to win again, while they are being linked with the player considered the best player who will be available as a free agent in the offseason.

It’s still October, but the Dodgers are already being linked with the signing of another superstar in the upcoming free agency

According to Dodgers Nation posted on X, formerly Twitter, the Los Angeles Dodgers are heavily linked to Chicago Cubs outfielder Kyle Tucker, who could face them in the 2025 National League Championship Series.

“It’s still October, but the Dodgers are already being strongly linked with Kyle Tucker as his free agency approaches,” the Dodgers-focused site tweeted on Saturday, October 11, 2025.

What would the perfect Los Angeles Dodgers offer for Kyle Tucker?

Based on the recent mega contracts awarded by the Los Angeles Dodgers to Shohei Ohtani and by the New York Mets to outfielder Juan Soto, and according to MLB insider Jon Heyman, the Chicago Cubs are unlikely to offer Kyle Tucker the contract worth more than $300 million.

“It’s hard to see the Cubs spending more than $300 million on Kyle Tucker,” Heyman wrote a couple of days ago. “Great all-around player, but with Owen Caissie probably ready to play, and considering their history of avoiding monster contracts, the Dodgers, Giants and others seem more likely.”

There is no doubt that Kyle Tucker’s next contract will be huge. It may be the biggest one awarded this winter. It will almost certainly exceed the $300 million mark. In fact, it would not be surprising to see it exceed $400 million.

Kyle Tucker will likely have multiple suitors besides the Dodgers, such as the San Francisco Giants, as well as both New York teams, the Mets and Yankees.

A perfect offer for Kyle Tucker would probably be at least seven or eight seasons, with an average annual salary (AAV) of at least $40 million per season, on par with Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and New York Yankees captain Aaron Judge

Based on the last few offseasons, it seems likely that Kyle Tucker will exceed that AAV. The perfect contract the Dodgers could offer Tucker to join their superteam would be an eight-year, $336 million deal, which would pay him an AAV of $42 million per season. Will the potential former Cub live up to that contract? It’s up to the defending world champions to find out.
