It is inevitable for the Mets not to panic after their winless streak in Major League Baseball

Sadly, what began as a season with high expectations has turned into a nightmare for the New York Mets. The New York team has lost 14 of its last 17 games, plummeting in the National League East Division.

The Mets are two games behind the Philadelphia Phillies and their outlook is getting darker. The fans, accustomed to drama but also to hope, are beginning to lose patience. At Citi Field, the alarm bells are not only ringing, they are ringing loudly.

It seems like a collective failure for the Mets

The Mets’ crisis goes beyond the numbers. Despite having a roster full of talent and experience, consistency is conspicuous by its absence. The offense has been lackluster at key moments, and the pitching rotation, one of the team’s cornerstones, has not been up to par.

In addition, tactical decisions from the bench have been widely criticised. The manager, trying to keep calm, insists that “there is a long season ahead”, but strategic errors and a lack of reaction have further fuelled the media criticism

Maximum pressure for the Mets

The schedule is not helping either. In the coming days, the Mets will face direct rivals within the division, a situation that could become a point of no return if defeats continue. The urgency for immediate results is stronger than ever.

Although statistically the Mets are still in the hunt for a MLB postseason spot, the margin for error has been drastically reduced. While the Phillies and Braves continue to add up, the Mets are sinking without brakes.

Is it time for radical changes for the Mets?

With the trade deadline looming, management is at a crossroads. Should they strengthen the team with one last push or start a restructuring? The coming weeks could define not only 2025, but the immediate future of the franchise.

In the midst of the uncertainty, one thing is clear: if the Mets don’t react now, the October dream will slip through their fingers. Baseball in New York is in crisis, and the only way out is to start winning again… fast.
