Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz throws his hardest punch to defend Latinos in the United States: “It hurts me how they are being treated”

Isaac “Pitbull” Cruz has shown that not everything in his career revolves around titles or knockouts. From his place in the elite of international boxing, the fighter from Mexico City has decided to use his voice to speak out about a cause much bigger than any belt: the dignity of Latino migrants in the United States.

In the middle of an interview with Mediotiempo, the Mexican fighter did not shy away from the subject. On the contrary, he faced it with the same determination he shows in the ring. “It hurts me as a Mexican… to know how they are being treated,” he said, referring to the treatment received by many migrant workers, who, despite their efforts, are judged and discriminated against just because of their origin.

A message from the Latin heart

Cruz is not interested in speaking from a political perspective, but from empathy. He sympathizes not only with Mexicans, but with all Latinos who have crossed borders in search of a better life. “For those who do evil, the people who do good work are treated in a very unfair way,” he said clearly and bluntly.

Instead of pointing the finger, his message is aimed at encouragement and endurance. “Not to do something bad, but to keep fighting for a decent future,” he said, making it clear that his support is not symbolic: it is emotional, it is authentic, and it comes from the experience of someone who knows firsthand the effort involved in moving forward with the weight of prejudice on one’s shoulders.

Latin America in the champion’s corner

In recent years, migrants have lived under constant pressure: raids, walls and hate speech have left a mark that is difficult to erase. Cruz, even from the top, does not forget this context. His empathy is not limited to his compatriots: “Not just because I’m Mexican, but also Peruvian, Honduran, whatever… I join in that bitter sorrow they are going through,” he said

In a sport where talking about politics or social justice is often avoided, Cruz defies that norm. As a public figure and world champion, he understands that his voice carries weight, and he has decided to put it at the service of those who often cannot make themselves heard.

For Isaac Cruz, being a champion is not just about medals or records. It is also about representing those who fight every day in silence. His message is not intended to confront, but to remind us that behind every migrant there is a story, a family, a dream.
