Lexie Hull may be on the verge of closing a chapter with the Indiana Fever, and the response from her teammates suggests it could be a tough goodbye.

Following the team’s season-ending loss in the Eastern Conference Finals, Hull – now a restricted free agent – shared an emotional Instagram post that captured the attention of fans and teammates alike.

“Smiling through it all because I LOVE my job!!” Hull wrote. “Thankful for year 4! this group was a special one. Last slide has a surprise.”

The post quickly gained traction as teammates rushed to show their love. Caitlin Clark, who has built a strong connection with Hull over the past two seasons, was one of the first to react. “So proud of you,” she commented.

Hull’s future uncertain as teammates rally around her

Several others added their voices in support. Aliyah Boston commented, “Last slide I freaking love you,” followed by another playful message: “Sexxxyyyyy lexieee sinperrrr.”

Kelsey Mitchell wrote, “going thru every war with you, 10,” while Sydney Colson chimed in with, “The song and the black eyes.”

With key players like Clark and Sophie Cunningham sidelined by injuries late in the season, Hull stepped into a leadership role, becoming a key force in Indiana’s playoff run. Her toughness, versatility, and defensive skill made her one of the team’s most reliable contributors.

Now heading into free agency, Hull has expressed her love for the franchise but acknowledged the uncertainty ahead.

“I’m a restricted free agent, which changes things a bit, but I’ve loved my years here in Indiana,” she said. “Obviously with a lot of uncertainty, you don’t know what’s to come, but I’ve built a life here. I love this franchise. I love the people, the fans, so we’ll see.”

Whether she returns or not, her bond with Clark has become a defining part of the Fever’s recent success – and its future may depend on whether that connection continues.
