The Las Vegas Raiders may have snagged a win against the Cleveland Browns, but the tension off the field is keeping things far from celebratory. Davante Adams, who missed the game due to a hamstring injury, is now at the center of trade rumors that have sparked after head coach Antonio Pierce liked an Instagram post speculating about Adams’ future with the team.
This little “like” has added fuel to an already ongoing fire of trade rumors surrounding Adams, who’s been a hot topic for the past couple of seasons. During his appearance on the Up & Adams show, hosted by Kay Adams, the wide receiver didn’t hold back his thoughts about the situation.
“I haven’t heard from him. I haven’t talked to him. I don’t really know exactly what that’s all about,” Adams told Kay when asked about Pierce’s social media activity.
Adams’ frustration is understandable. Trade rumors have been swirling for what feels like forever, and for a six-time Pro Bowler, it gets exhausting. “It gets annoying, for sure,” he admitted. “I’m one of those players people like to talk about one way or the other.” Yet, despite all the chatter, Adams remains focused on what he can control: “All I can control is this talk we’re having right here and then after we’re done with this, all I can control is the next thing I’m on to.“
Raiders WR responds to trade rumors
But the speculation continues to grow. With the NFL trade deadline looming on November 5th, some are wondering if the Raiders are seriously considering letting go of one of their key players. Yet, reports suggest a trade is not on the table at the moment. Still, the social media slip-up has created a buzz that isn’t going away anytime soon.
Adams seems to be keeping his cool, though, despite the swirling rumors. “Social media is a beast,” he said. “A lot of people out there saw it, and now they’re wondering what’s going on.” However, the lack of communication from the team has left things feeling a bit awkward.
Adams hasn’t spoken to Pierce about the incident, which only adds to the mystery. “But there’s been no communication from the team since that became a thing,” he added, leaving fans and analysts alike to speculate what’s really happening behind the scenes.
