Is Caitlin Clark the target of witchcraft? a ritual sparks alarm among Indiana Fever fans

In a wierd moment that mixed fan love and wild stories, a Dallas Wings fan became an online hit this week after doing what seemed to be a “ritual” for the Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, who was not even playing.

The act, shown on TikTok and then run all over online spots, made people laugh, worry, and not believe their eyes.

A ritual in the basket

The clip, first put up by a fan of rookie Paige Bueckers, shows them lighting a candle and reciting a spell by a laptop showing Clark’s pictures. The goal, as said in the title, was to “help the Wings win.” The clip got big on X, sparking lots of reactions.

“They are using blood magic on Caitlin Clark,” a user made a joke, talking about the dark feel of the clip. More put in lines like “Say no to juju” and “This is getting weird,” as the video got more and more views.

Even going against the ritual, the Indiana Fever beat the Dallas Wings 94-86 at the American Airlines Center. Clark, out recovering from a left quadriceps injury, did not play. In her place, vet guard Kelsey Mitchell showed class by scoring 32 points, and Aliyah Boston got 21 to win the game.

On the other side, rookie Paige Bueckers, fast turning into a star, had a big game with 27 points and six assists. However, it was not enough to win over the Fever’s strong play.

Love and respect among rivals

Even if the ritual act was meant as a joke or belief, Bueckers showed love to Clark before the game. At a talk before the game, she talked about the big press Clark has as a top face in the WNBA.

“It’s inhumane, honestly,” Bueckers said. “She’s handled it with so much grace. I have nothing but respect for her.”

The wild moment shows the strong, and sometimes odd, fan love that follows Caitlin Clark. Coming into the league as the top pick, Clark has become a big name and a focal point, pulling huge views and deep feelings from fans and those who watch.

Joke or not, it speaks to Clark’s big mark in the league-even when she’s off the court.

Current injury

Clark hurt her groin in a win over the Seattle Storm when she fell in a bad way near the end of the game. At first, she kept playing, but the Fever’s med team later said she had to miss tjhe next two games against the Los Angeles Sparks and the Dallas Wings. Head coach Stephanie White called it “day-to-day,” and said the team wants to look out for Clark’s health for the long run.

“We’re going to be smart and cautious and play the long game,” White told reporters. “Anyone who’s had these injuries knows recovery can be a process.”

Clark might get checked again before the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup Final against the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday, July 2. This game may see her play again if she gets the OK.
