Yes, it was as expected and still people could not believe the ending. The Philadelphia Phillies tied the National League Division Series at one win per side, after beating the New York Mets on 7 to 6 on Sunday in walk-off fashion
Nick Castellanos and Bryce Harper carried the Phillies in what was a comeback and run/scoring affair that ended in the bottom of the ninth inning. Both of them awaken their bats late in the game and it was totally worth it.
Luis Severino was pitching sensationally and he had not allowed runs in five innings, but Bryce Harper and Nick Castellanos were in charge of making three by way of home runs.
History made but not enough
Left-handed pitcher Matt Strahm faced third baseman Mark Vientos with a man on board. With a solid swing that drove through left center field, he tied the score at six runs in the ninth inning.
In this way, he becomes the seventh New York Mets player with multiple home runs in a Postseason game. Michael Conforto (2015), Carlos Beltran (2006), Carlos Delgado (2006), Edgardo Alfonzo (1999), Gary Carter (1986) and Rusty Staub (1973) also did it.
But the Philadelphia Phillies would have the answer in the bottom of the ninth, after Nick Castellanos hit an RBI single to end the game. It is the fifth time in franchise history that they have won via walk-off in the postseason.
