Indiana Fever’s gesture toward Caitlin Clark sparks major concern among fans

The Indiana Fever are preparing for a high-stakes game against the Chicago Sky, but attention has shifted to something off the court. On Saturday, as the team shared images of their players boarding the flight to Chicago, fans immediately picked up on the fact that Caitlin Clark was nowhere to be seen.

For a team that typically features Clark in nearly every social media post, her absence stood out. The Fever’s Instagram post, captioned “chi-town bound,” showed teammates Sophie Cunningham, Aliyah Boston, and Lexie Hull, among others, getting ready for the trip. All looked relaxed, enjoying snacks and travel routines before their matchup.

Fans react to Clark’s missing presence

It did not take long for fans to start asking questions. “Hoping Clark will play,” one wrote, while another chimed in, “She’s not ready, no need to rush her back, groin injuries can take months!” Others tried to piece together clues, referencing reports that Clark had been ruled out until at least August 12. “Hype woman CC is missing!” read one comment. “I was just wondering why she wasn’t in the photo dump,” another added.

Some supporters attempted to calm nerves, noting that team social media does not always show every player and that Clark was spotted on a teammate’s Instagram story.

Still, the absence of any official appearance from Clark in the travel photos has only heightened concern among Fever fans.

Clark remains sidelined with a groin injury that has kept her out for more than half of the season. The team’s most recent update confirmed she has no timetable for her return and emphasized the priority is her long-term health.

Adding to the uncertainty, Chicago’s Angel Reese is also listed as questionable for Sunday’s contest due to a back issue. Reese missed the Sky‘s previous game and could be unavailable again for this high-profile meeting.

With two of the league’s most talked-about rookies potentially missing the showdown, fans will have to wait to see when both stars will be back on the court. For now, Clark‘s absence remains a topic of concern and speculation across the WNBA community.
