Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White mourns the passing of Jim Irsay: “The entire city is very sad”

The death of Jim Irsay was a devastating blow not only to the Indianapolis Colts but also to the entire city of Indianapolis. As team owner, Irsay’s legacy transcended the realm of sports, leaving an indelible mark on the community.

Irsay led the Colts for decades and was instrumental in establishing the team as a pillar of the NFL. He guided them to victory in Super Bowl XLI in 2007. The Indiana Fever joins in offering condolences to Jim

Indiana is going through an emotional time following the loss of Jim Irsay, the former owner of the Colts. His passing has deeply touched the local sports scene.

In the middle of the season, Fever coach Stephanie White, a respected voice in state sports, paused to reflect on Irsay‘s legacy and the mark he left on the identity of an entire community.

“We lost a legend. What Jim Irsay and his family have meant to the city of Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, and sports in this state is immeasurable. Our thoughts are with his family, and we send them our best wishes,” White said at the press conference.

The Indiana Fever posted this excerpt on social media.

“Stephanie White reflects on what Colts owner Jim Irsay meant to our city and to sports in Indiana,” they wrote.

Jim Irsay left an indelible mark on Indiana. His legacy went beyond football. He united the state through sports, culture, and his commitment to the community. He was not just an owner; he was the light of an entire city that will always remember him.
