Caitlin Clark is a true phenomenon in Iowa, and the Indiana Fever player’s story back home is one for the books. Not just because of her accomplishments, but because of everything she has done outside of the sport.
Clark stood out as a top figure in women’s college basketball, earning Player of the Year honors in both her junior and senior years. Under her leadership, the Iowa Hawkeyes reached the Final Four twice, finishing as national runners-up both seasons. The end was sad, but far from the championship, the gratitude and unconditional love remain.
After her time at Iowa, Caitlin was ready and able to take the next step in her career. Clark entered the WNBA Draft and was the Fever‘s first pick. In her first season in Indiana, she lived up to expectations, breaking multiple records, being named Rookie of the Year and earning a spot on the WNBA First Team. The Indiana Fever enter the new season as one of the favorites to win the title.
The Indiana Fever prepare for the new season with a special game in Iowa
The Fever has prepared for Caitlin Clark’s return to the University of Iowa, now accompanied by her professional team, to play a preseason game against the Brazilian National Team, as announced on their social media today.
“Iowa, see you soon,” posted the official Indiana account.
“What an experience for the fans who can’t travel to one of our WNBA cities,” said Fever coach Stephanie White.
The game will serve as a tune-up for their WNBA debut on May 17 when they take on the Chicago Sky at home in Indianapolis’ Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The game promises to steal the show with the Reese vs. Clark matchup.
This special game for Caitlin Clark will take place on May 4 at the Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City, Iowa. Tickets are in high demand and prices are skyrocketing, with the cheapest tickets going for $150-200 and the most expensive going for over $1,500. It’s crazy what Clark‘s return home is generating.
