This Saturday, May 31, the Grand Final of the UEFA Champions League will be held with a unique match in the 71 years of the most important continental competition at club level. For the first time, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will face each other, and what better occasion than in the framework of the famous “Orejona“.
This will be the third time that the two teams have faced each other in their history, where two games have been friendly and only one as an official match in the “International Champions Cup” tournament in the 2016 edition. The balance of these brief encounters is one victory for each side and a draw between Italians and French.
Inter Milan will be looking for another Champions League title in their trophy cabinet
Inter Milan’s history is full of surprises, feats and drama in several of its appearances. The blue and black team has participated in 25 editions of the Champions League, reaching the final six times and winning on three occasions.Its first title was in its debut year in the 1963-64 season when it defeated Alfredo Di Stefano’s Real Madrid by a score of 3-1. The following year, they returned to the Championship match where they once again took home the trophy, this time against Benfica of Portugal, winning 1-0.
It took 35 years for Inter to win again in the Grand Final in the 2009-10 campaign, when they won their third and last title against Bayern Munich 2-0. Inter Milan’s path in the Champions League is as follows:

PSG have another chance to win the Champions League
With a shorter history, PSG made their debut in what is now known as the UEFA Champions League in the 1986-87 season, where they were eliminated in the group stage. In total, they have participated in 17 editions, where only on one occasion did they reach the final, in the 2019-20 season when they lost to Bayern Munich by 1-0.
