Alexander Zverev arrived at the 2026 Indian Wells Open after participating in the Mexican Open, where he had an off-court experience that brought a smile to his face. In Acapulco, he joined food influencer Roberto Morales, known as RobeGrill, to grill fish and try traditional Mexican drinks like hibiscus water and horchata, connecting with the local culture in a fun and relaxed way.

On the sporting side, Zverev had mixed results in the Mexican tournament. He was eliminated in the second round of singles by Miomir Kecmanovi in a very close match but shone in doubles. Alongside veteran Brazilian Marcelo Melo, he claimed the title by defeating Robert Galloway and Alexander Erler in the final, 63, 64.

Zverev starts Indian Wells with a win and new challenges

Now in Indian Wells, Zverev began his singles campaign with a victory over Matteo Berrettini, showing good form and focus. His next opponent in the third round will be American Brandon Nakashima, while in doubles he will continue partnering with Melo, facing the duo of Félix AugerAliassime and Sebastian Korda.

The Indian Wells tournament, known as the “Tennis Paradise,” offers Zverev a chance to combine his singles and doubles performance, consolidating his place on the tour. His experience in Acapulco allowed him to arrive relaxed and energized, ready to tackle new challenges in the California desert.

Between the court and the kitchen, Zverev has shown that his tournament journey is measured not only in results but also in experiences that blend competition, curiosity, and fun, revealing a more approachable and human side of the German tennis star.
